2025 SPRING SEASON

Gold Country Lacrosse provides age appropriate lacrosse instruction and recreation level competition for girls and boys in 1st through 8th grade. We aim to promote team work, sportsmanship, and safety while teaching the skills required to play lacrosse. Our goal is that our athletes develop at the individual and team level, and have fun while doing it.


No experience necessary! We do not hold tryouts and players of all abilities are welcome to play on all of our teams.

Practices

Practice schedules vary by team and age group. Below is a general guideline.

8U COED: 1 practice per week

10U GIRLS AND BOYS: 2 practices per week

12U GIRLS AND BOYS: 2 practices per week

14U GIRLS AND BOYS: 3 practices per week

Ages

We offer lacrosse for girls and boys in 1st through 8th grades, born between 09/01/2010 and 8/31/2018.

When

Practices begin in February and the season runs through mid-May. Specifics will be communicated by coaches once rosters are finalized in January.

Games

The number of games varies by age group and from season to season. We do our best to balance home and away games. Away games are played in Loomis, Rocklin, Folsom, and other areas in the greater Sacramento region.

8UCOED: Games are played on Friday evenings

10U GIRLS AND BOYS: Games are played on Friday evenings

12U/14U GIRLS AND BOYS: Games are primarily played on Saturdays, and sometimes on Sundays. Times will vary

Uniforms

8U COED: Pinnies will be provided. Solid black shorts should be worn for games

10U - 14U GIRLS AND BOYS: Uniform purchase is required. They are approx. $60 and will be ordered at our season kickoff event in January.

Extra Costs

A current membership with the USA Lacrosse Sports Organization. The fee is $35.00.

8U COED: Only a stick and a mouth guard are required. Gloves and cleats are optional.

Refund Policy

Full registration cost refunds are available before 12/31/24


After 12/31/24 there will be no refunds


USA Lacrosse Membership and Uniforms are non refundable


Credit card fees are non refundable


Registration insurance is non refundable


If we are unable to place your player on a team, a full refund will be issued

Registration Insurance

Protect your registration from unforeseen circumstances that prevent you from participating, including injuries, sickness (including COVID-19), extreme weather, job loss including strikes, and other covered reasons.


This insurance option, from Vertical Insure, is available during the registration checkout process and we recommend that you utilize this should you be concerned about the potential of needing a refund. More information about registration insurance policies is available HERE.

  • $25 New Player Discount - For anyone who has never registered for a SPRING SEASON with us (automatically applied)

14U GIRLS SPRING 2025

14U Girls lacrosse works towards proficiency of fundamentals and stick skills. High speed, position specific, complex drills are used prepare for elevated competition. Advanced lacrosse IQ and game strategy is taught in preparation for high school level lacrosse. Higher level conditioning, speed, and agility training is included in practices.

Our 14U teams participate in the NCJLA league. Games are played on a full field, with a full sized goal, with 11 field players and 1 goalie per team. Certified referees are used to officiate and scores are recorded for league standings and tournament rankings.

14U BOYS SPRING 2025

14U Boys lacrosse works towards proficiency of fundamentals and stick skills. High speed, position specific, complex drills are used prepare for elevated competition. Advanced lacrosse IQ and game strategy is taught in preparation for high school level lacrosse. Higher level conditioning, speed, and agility training is included in practices. Body checking and full stick checking are permitted.

Our 14U teams participate in the NCJLA league. Games are played on a full field, with a full sized goal, with 11 field players and 1 goalie per team. Certified referees are used to officiate and scores are recorded for league standings and tournament rankings.

12U GIRLS SPRING 2025

12U girls lacrosse continues to work on fundamentals and stick skills at a faster pace. Refinement of these skills allows for focus on more complex drills and position specific training. At this higher level of competition improvement of game IQ and strategy are a focus. The use of both hands is encouraged, and basic conditioning, speed and agility training is part of practices.

Our 12U teams participate in the NCJLA league. Games are played on a full field, with a full sized goal, with 11 field players and 1 goalie per team. Certified referees are used to officiate and scores are recorded for league standings and tournament rankings.

12U BOYS SPRING 2025

12U boys lacrosse continues to work on fundamentals and stick skills at a faster pace. Refinement of these skills allows for focus on more complex drills and position specific training. At this higher level of competition improvement of game IQ and strategy are a focus. The use of both hands is encouraged, and basic conditioning, speed and agility training is part of practices. Allowed contact increases at this age level, however proper technique and player safety remain at the forefront. Some body contact is allowed, however body checking remains illegal. Some stick checking is allowed.

Our 12U teams participate in the NCJLA league. Games are played on a full field, with a full sized goal, with 9 field players and 1 goalie per team. Certified referees are used to officiate and scores are recorded for league standings and tournament rankings.

10U GIRLS SPRING 2025

10U girls lacrosse continues to focus on fundamental skills such as passing, catching, scooping and shooting. Game strategies and position specific skills are introduced. Rule modifications and limited contact encourage team work and ball movement. No checking is allowed. Full gear is used.

Our 10U teams participate in the Sacramento City League which is specifically designed as a development program to introduce lacrosse to younger players. Games are played on a shortened field, use a full sized goal, with 7 field players and a goalie per team. Junior referees, usually older club players, are used to officiate and no score is kept.

10U BOYS SPRING 2025

10U boys lacrosse continues to focus on fundamental skills such as scooping, throwing, catching and shooting. Game strategies and position specific skills are introduced. Rule modifications and limited contact encourage team work and ball movement. No body checking and limited stick checking is permitted. Full gear is used.

Our 10U teams participate in the Sacramento City League which is specifically designed as a development program to introduce lacrosse to younger players. Games are played on a shortened field, use a full sized goal, with 7 field players and a goalie per team. Junior referees, usually older club players, are used to officiate and no score is kept.

8U CO-ED SPRING 2025

8U co-ed is designed as an introduction to lacrosse for boys and girls in 1st and 2nd grade. It is no contact, uses soft balls, and no safety gear is required. Basic skills such as throwing, catching, and scooping, as well as team work and an introduction to game strategy are taught through fun and engaging games and drills.

Our 8U team participates in the Sacramento City League which is specifically designed as a development program to introduce lacrosse to younger players. Games are played on small fields, with small goals, with 4 field players per team and no goalie. No officials are used and score is not kept. Coaches direct game play.
